Party = success

Last Saturday Joe and I had a big blowout bash at our house. We got 2 kegs, roasted a 135 lb piggy and 200 years of corn. We think we invited about 100 people, and roughly half showed up. Not bad, not bad. I know how busy most people are on the weekends in the summer, so I was happy with the turnout!

We tapped the first keg at 3:30 on Saturday, and finished off the second one at 6:00am on Sunday.

I'm not saying I could do this every weekend.. but it really was alot of fun to have so many people over at our house.

Our pool and deck were broken in good for the first time by about 12 children :) Poor kids, we haven't hooked up the heater yet and the pool was only 74 degrees! There was lots of shivering children running around my yard after that!

But never fear, we had a HUGE bonfire to warm them right up!

I sure do love summer!

So what do you think.. should we make it an annual thing?

Would you people come to my parties? ;)

Bed.. book.. bummin'

.. that is exactly what I would like to be doing right now.

I want to curl up in my big comfy bed, with my warm snuggly puppies, and I want to completely lose myself in a book that is so good the thought of having to close the cover and float back down to reality makes me want to cry.

It's just one of those days where I need to get lost in something good.

Oh, and if there happened to be a bag of Dove chocolates w/ almonds next to my bed.. I wouldn't even complain.

The night I stayed out until 4am.

That would be Thursday night.

That would also make me an idiot, because it is now Saturday and I still haven't caught up on my sleep!

Thursday my friends play volleyball on a bar league. It's Sami, Petey, Jeffrey, Michael, Dustin, Alli, Kayla & Kirky. So I always go to North Hudson to watch them, and then we usually grab dinner and a few drinks at Kozy. Joe doesn't ever come with because "sports aren't his thing". Dummy, it's not about the sports.. it's about friends and having a good time. But whatever!

So we got to Kozy around 9:00 and ordered some food and drinks. After everyone finished, they decided to call it an early night and go home. Except me, Mike & Kirk. So we headed down the road to Starr's Bar for awhile. We each had 3 or 4 more drinks, played some dice and took some shots. Scott was trying to get us to come over, and I kept hesitating because I reallly needed to go home and sleep. It was already well past my bedtime. But then he said we could go swimming, and really how could I turn that down? :) So around 1:00 we went to Scott's house. It was me, Mike, Kirky, Scott and Kirk's brother, Ryan. We weren't there 10 minutes before all of us jumped in the pool! It was really fun :) There was a little bit of drunken drama between Kirk and Ryan, but we just let them fight it out while we kicked back on the deck with a beer :) Finally I checked my phone and realized it was 3:00 and I needed to get up in 3 hours! I really didn't want to, but I ended up taking Kirk and Ryan back home to North Hudson and then went home. It was a very long ride with a soaking wet dress!

I got home at 4:00 and got exactly 2 hours of sleep.

Then yesterday at work my manager bought me a 5 hour energy :) She also told me that I wasn't allowed to partake in Thirsty Thursday's anymore and she was going to call me at 10:00 to make sure I was home in bed every Thursday. I guess I do like my work girls here sometimes :)

I went grocery shopping after work yesterday, but spent the rest of the night relaxing with my Little House on the Prairie books.. it was very nice :)

Now 5 more hours of work, and I can go home and help my baby boy with our pool deck!!

Have a great weekend! :D

*sigh*

I have absolutely nothing to do right now.

I'm losing my mind.

Helppppp.

Think of all the stuff I could be doing if I was at home.

Stupid, stupid work.

Changed my mind.

Gosh, I'm horrible at this!

I've gone so far as to log on to blogger, title a post, and start WRITING.. and then I just change my mind.

I wish I had a fascinating life to tell you all about :)

Friday I left work around 1:00 and took a MUCH needed nap. My silly self drank too much wine the day before and didn't get nearly enough sleep the night before. So after a nap and shower on Friday afternoon, I met Joe in New Richmond and we went to dinner at Pete's. :) Mm.. I love Pete's buffet! I checked out the new Maurice's in town and did a bit of Walmart shopping then headed home.

Joe had to go back to work for a little bit and I met up with Michael, Jeff & Petey for a few beers at JJ's. Ended up being an early night.. I was back home in bed well before 11:00.

Saturday we were celebrating my cousin, Ell's, 1st birthday and taking family pictures at Fort Snelling State Park. I can't talk enough about how much I LOVE being with my family. It's impossible to not feel anything but complete and utter contentment when I'm with them. So, Saturday was just an absolutely perfect day! We grilled out at the park, I spend lots of time swimming and playing with all my little cousins, and I got even got some quality time with my brother (which doesn't happen often enough) All the fun in the sun that we had quickly caught up to us when we got home and both Joe and I took a nice nap :) Then Dylan came over and the boys played around in the garage until about 4am, while I got lots of episodes of 7th Heaven in! Perfect :)

Sunday morning, we both slept in until 11:00 then slowly started getting ready around the house. We made our way in to Hudson to finally get the lumber for our deck! All that work loading lumber in the sun made us decided that we deserved Chinese for lunch :) We came home, and I got showered up and changed to go to the boys' softball game. Horrible game, got 12 runned.. but we all agreed it was for the best anyways, because nobody wanted to be outside (let alone playing!!) in the heat. So of course to cool down, me and Mike and Scott went to Kozy for a couple beers and some food :)

And now it's Monday and the workday is finally over!

I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend :D
